Guardian Profile: David Barry

“About 5 years ago my wife and I decided to ‘semi-retire.’ We moved from New Jersey to Greenville County. We couldn’t be happier with the decision. With more free time, I wanted to find a way to contribute to the community. Friends told me about the volunteer GAL program. I thought it meshed well with my background as both an attorney and social worker. More importantly, I couldn’t think of a more important and rewarding use of time than being an advocate for kids caught in an often bad situation. Plus, I get to work collaboratively with so many smart and dedicated professionals, from case workers to attorneys. I am honored to be involved with this important work.”
